Allan, a native of England, relocated to Naples from the island of Jersey in 1979. Allan opened his first office in Naples in 1987. He has worked extensively with medical professionals providing financial planning and consulting services.

Since arriving in Naples, Allan has been heavily involved, as a player, coach, and administrator, in the development of soccer in Collier County. In 1999, he was elected and is currently President of the Gulf Coast Adult Soccer League. In addition, Allan is a member of the Optimist Club of Naples and has coached in their youth and high school soccer programs for over twenty years. Allan has been further involved with the Naples North Rotary Club, where he was responsible, in part, for the raising and distribution of scholarship funds for local high school students. Allan was a Founding member, Vice President and Director, of The POLO Club of Naples, a local community service organization.

Hobbies include soccer, tennis, fly-fishing, squash, and reading. The Wilson family lives in North Naples. Allan and his wife, Anne, have two children. Anne is a Registered Nurse who has worked in the NCH Healthcare system since 1981.
